The labyrinth at Grace Presbyterian Church in Round Rock, TX is a classical 7-circuit rustic design that is about 36 feet in diameter. This style labyrinth has the pathway form arches from left to right and then back again right to left until all the circuits have been walked before entering the center circle. The pathway is crushed granite pebbles and the edges are large rectangular pieces of cut stone laid on their long narrow edge. Because the edges are set higher than the gravel filling in the path, caution is needed to not trip or stumble on these edge stones as you walk the path. The path was designed to be wide enough to have ample room to walk the journey without getting too close to the raised edge blocks. The center circle is an elongated endpoint of the path. Once at the center, the same path is used to walk out of the labyrinth.
The pathway to the labyrinth's center is designed to complement the concept that walking a labyrinth allows you to meditate and release your tensions and worries on the way in. At the center, you can leave those frustrations there and can return on the same path back with a more relaxed attitude of hope and contentment.
