"Le rocher de Mutzig offre une vue à 360° sur la vallée de la Bruche, ainsi que sur les massifs alentours tels le Donon, le Schneeberg et le Champ du Feu. Les remarquables formations sommitales sont souvent en poudingues, conglomérats de grès incrustés de multiples petits galets. Le rocher de Mutzig doit son nom au bois de Mutzig qu'il domine.
Avec la Porte de Pierre et le Donon, le rocher de Mutzig est un incontournable de la randonnée sur le versant ouest de la vallée de la Bruche.
Le rocher de Mutzig désigne un sommet gréseux du massif des Vosges. Ce sommet tabulaire est situé sur le territoire de la commune de Lutzelhouse, à environ un kilomètre à l'est de la ligne de crête formant la limite avec la Moselle. Il culmine à 1 008 mètres d'altitude, soit la même altitude que son grand sommet voisin, le Donon, qui appartient à la même corniche résistante en grès triasique du Buntsandstein. Les formations sommitales, très résistantes à l'érosion, sont souvent en poudingues ou conglomérats gréseux."

The rock of Mutzig designates a sandstone summit of the Vosges massif. This tabular summit is located on the territory of the commune of Lutzelhouse, about one kilometer east of the ridge line forming the limit with the Moselle. It culminates at 1,008 meters, the same altitude as its large neighboring peak, the Donon, which belongs to the same resistant Triassic sandstone cornice of the Buntsandstein. The summit formations, very resistant to erosion, are often puddingstones or sandstone conglomerates."
