Morton Pass makes up the summit of one of only four paved routes that cross over the Laramie Mountains, which stretch for approximately 150 miles between Virginia Dale, Colorado, and Bessemer Bend, Wyoming. The other paved routes are I-25, State Highway 210, and Old U.S. 30, all of which are located in very close proximity to one another either near or on the original Lincoln Highway Summit between Laramie and Cheyenne. Morton Pass is on the western flank of the Laramie Mountains, and represents the highest point along Wyoming State Highway 34 as it leaves the Laramie Valley to the west and enters into Sybille Canyon heading towards Wheatland.
