This Woodman of the World monument was erected over the grave of John Samuel Richards (October 8th, 1855, to March 2nd, 1897), located in Greenhill Cemetery in Laramie.

This monument is of a tree trunk with numerous cut branches with ivy wrapped around the top and bottom; a dove sits on one of the branches. A maul and axe are carved at the base of the trunk, and a carved rope that "holds up" the inscription remains in excellent condition.
