Lone Butte Pioneer Cemetery can be found on the road leading to the Lone Butte Mesa Parking Lot and Trailhead! The Cemetery grounds are maintained by residents of the local community, and it is still used for the occasional internment! Not all of the interred have been identified at this time. The cemetery also has a small parking area near the front gate.
About 38 memorials have been identified although exact burial plots are not know for all.
The nearby community of Lone Butte was once the Cariboo Region’s largest town and a busy centre for the ranchers who settled in the area from the early 1900s to the 1950s. At that time, Lone Butte was the largest town in the region, with stockyards, lumber mills and hotels.
