The former St James Pesbytyerian Church traces its roots to 1883 when it was built as a replacement for a multi-denomination Protestant community church called the Meeting Place. It was originally located at what is now St James Cemetery. That building was destroyed by fire in 1938.
On 17 September 1939 this church was consecrated as St James Presbyterian Church.
The church was decommissioned in 1989 after the burgeoning size of the congregation necessitated a new facility.
The church was purchased by a local resident and moved to a private lot. It was purchased in 2019 and subsequently moved to its current location with the intent of restoring/converting it to a Little Recreation Building
