"Réalisée en été 2020, un lavoir à l’ancienne a été commandé par la mairie d’Urmatt, sur base de reconstituer le travail des lavandières dans ce lavoir restauré et aménagé. Elles s’aidaient des 'Waschkestels', ces caisses en bois dans lesquelles elles pouvaient s’agenouiller et ranger le battoir et le savon. Les artistes Roland Perret et Jordane ont choisi un style graphique avec un tracé de contour pour une ambiance un peu rétro. Le taureau était celui du village avec le portrait de son propriétaire de l’époque. Des scènes quotidiennes comme ce facteur ou ces oies qui taquinent un gamin viennent accompagner les lavandières. Ainsi ont été constituées des scènes historiques du village."

"In the summer of 2020, the Urmatt town council commissioned the construction of an old-fashioned washhouse, based on the idea of recreating the work of the washerwomen in this restored and refurbished washhouse. They used the 'Waschkestels', wooden boxes in which they could kneel and store the washing scourer and soap. The artists Roland Perret and Jordane chose a graphic style with outlines to create a slightly retro atmosphere. The bull was the village bull with a portrait of its owner at the time. Everyday scenes such as the postman or the geese teasing a child accompany the washerwomen. These are the historical scenes of the village."
