El sábado después de comer, los jovenes del pueblo, dirigidos por la sabiduría y la experiencia de los más mayores, bajan hasta la orilla del rio para cortar un chopo y plantarlo en el medio de la plaza. La entrada del chopo en la plaza a hombros de los jóvenes una vez caida la tarde, así como la espectacular plantada del chopo a golpe de cuerda, atendiendo a la orden de: ¡ arriba, arriba!, son dos de los momentos más esperados y vividos por los vecinos.
