The sculpture "A flame which never dies" is a tribute to the Maltese who had an influence on Malta becoming a Nation. Malta has been a British colony and became independent on 21 September 1964.

The sculpture is made of bronze and consists of many smaller elements in soft shapes, which together give the expression of many flames. The sculpture is placed on a triangular podium made of sandstone.

The Maltese artist Valerio Schembri (b. 1969) has created the artwork. He is best known for his ceramic works and has participated in several international exhibitions. (visit link)

At the sculpture there is a sign with information in Maltese, Italian, French and English.
