"Honoring Those Who Died While Serving our County 17-FEB 2016
"Timothy “Matt” Cooper was born 3-AUG 1981 in St. Charles, Missouri. Matt proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he achieved the rank of Captain.
"Matt served in Afghanistan. One day in Afghanistan in 2009 while leading a patrol, Matt was injured by an IED (improvised explosive device) explosion and was seriously injured. Matt’s injuries were so severe, he would never be the same.
"He was awarded a Purple Heart and discharged.
"In the years ahead, Matt underwent numerous operations and countless hours of physical rehabilitation to find his way back to a semi-normal life. Matt told others, he is representative of the many wounded warriors who are still in need of help and should not be forgotten.
"Matt passed away from natural causes following many years of struggle and pain on February 17, 2016.
"Matt is Honored and Remembered at the St, Charles County Veterans Museum." ~ St. Charles County Veterans Museum
