EN The Guerlédan dam is a hydroelectric dam located in the municipalities of Saint-Aignan in Morbihan and Mûr-de-Bretagne in Côtes-d'Armor, France.

Descriptif

Of the concrete gravity dam type, its construction lasted seven years (from 1923 to 1930). Placed on the course of the Blavet, it is 45 m high above the talweg (a total of 54.6 m on the foundation), 206 m long at the crest, 1.50 m thick at the crest, 33.50 m thick at the base (i.e. a volume of 110,000 m3) and retains a volume of 55 million m3 of water over an area of ??304 hectares, thus forming Lake Guerlédan, one of the largest lakes in Brittany.

Its impoundment engulfed more than 12 km of the Haut Blavet valley. During the emptying of the lake, one can discover a few walls of houses (in particular lock keeper), submerged trees of the old valley as well as its towpath, its gardens, its locks and its weirs.

De type barrage poids en béton, sa construction a duré sept ans (de 1923 à 1930). Placé sur le cours du Blavet, il mesure 45 m de haut au-dessus du talweg (au total 54,6 m sur fondation), 206 m de longueur de crête, 1,50 m d'épaisseur en crête, 33,50 m d'épaisseur à la base (soit un volume de 110 000 m3) et retient un volume de 55 millions de m3 d'eau sur une étendue de 304 hectares, formant ainsi le lac de Guerlédan, un des plus grands lacs bretons.

Sa mise en eau a englouti plus de 12 km de la vallée du Haut Blavet. Lors des vidanges du lac, on peut découvrir quelques murs de maisons (notamment éclusières), des arbres engloutis de l'ancienne vallée ainsi que son halage, ses jardinets, ses écluses et ses déversoirs.
