About the National Park Hoge Kempen:
"The Hoge Kempen National Park in the Belgian province of Limburg is the first National Park in Belgium! It is a unique nature reserve where more than 12,000 hectares of natural beauty are managed and protected. Extensive pine forests alternate with purple-flowering heathland and drifting dunes, large ponds testify to gravel and sand extraction, high peaks offer grand views, .... Numerous rare and special animals live in this natural setting.
The National Park exists on the one hand to protect nature and on the other hand to provide recreation for people. Hikers will find what they are looking for on the 440 km of hiking trails, cyclists can enjoy themselves on the cycle route network, mountain bikers have 200 km of unpaved paths available, and riders enjoy an extensive equestrian network. Something for everyone!
The huge nature reserve has 9 entrance gates. These are places on the edge of the National Park with all necessary facilities such as a spacious car park, information boards, catering, toilets, etc."
