Descriptif

Le QUILLIO signifie en Celte les crêtes. Son nom est le reflet de sa géographie dominant un paysage de bois et de collines.

Le comte d’UZEL né vers 1325-1335, chevalier breton qui devint Connétable (chef des armées du roi de France) alors qu’il combattait en Italie près de la ville d’ANCONE (site sanctuaire de Notre-Dame de Lorette) se trouva dans une situation difficile. Il fit vœux, s’il sortait de cette mauvaise passe, de faire construire sur la plus haute de ses terres une chapelle dédiée à Notre-Dame de Lorette. Sur un promontoire de 298 mètres fut édifiée à la fin du 14ème siècle une chapelle.

La source située en contrebas du promontoire est elle aussi dédiée à Notre-Dame de Lorette. L’édifice qui la protège date du 15ème siècle, il est composé de quatre pignons à ouverture trilobé, les contreforts sont couronnés de pinacles en pierre, de forme pyramidale l’ensemble est surmonté en son centre d’une statue à l’effigie de Notre-Dame de Lorette. Cette source est reconnue pour ses propriétés miraculeuses et particulièrement pour les maux d’oreilles. Derrière cette imposante fontaine, un petit oratoire surmonté d’une croix abrite une statue de Notre-Dame de Lorette.

The QUILLIO means ridges in Celtic. Its name is the reflection of its geography dominating a landscape of woods and hills.

The Count of UZEL born around 1325-1335, Breton knight who became Connétable (chief of the armies of the King of France) while fighting in Italy near the town of ANCONE (sanctuary site of Notre-Dame de Lorette) found himself in a difficult situation. He vowed, if he came out of this bad patch, to have a chapel dedicated to Notre-Dame de Lorette built on the highest of his lands. On a promontory of 298 meters was built at the end of the 14th century a chapel.

The source located below the promontory is also dedicated to Notre-Dame de Lorette. The building which protects it dates from the 15th century, it is composed of four gables with trefoil opening, the buttresses are crowned with stone pinnacles, of pyramidal shape, the whole is surmounted in its center by a statue bearing the effigy of Our Lady of Loreto. This source is recognized for its miraculous properties and particularly for earaches. Behind this imposing fountain, a small oratory surmounted by a cross shelters a statue of Notre-Dame de Lorette.
