This striking fountain in Bistrita was made by the Romanian sculptor
Patriciu Mateescu in 2016, who is now living in the USA. According to
his album
(page 62) it is made of polyester and fiberglass and has a diameter of 4
meters.
Patriciu Mateescu was born 1927 in Romania. He studied the Academy of Art
in Bucharest and is a founding member of the "Hamangia" Foundation. His work
can be found in many different countries and over the last decades he
received numerous awards.
