In Diu fort there are a few pieces of artillery left on display. They are Portuguese material left behind after the invasion of 1961.

In December 1961 India invaded the Portuguese territories of Goa, Damão and Diu. In some spots the fight was fierce and both parts suffered casualties and material losses. The cannons on display here were Portuguese artillery partially damaged during the battle. The entrance to the fort is free and the pieces of artillery are on display in the spot indicated in the coordinates.
