A small labyrinth made of live plants (Liriope/Monkey Grass) with mulch for the pathway. It is under a large Tulup Poplar tree that provides dappled shade to the whole area. It is fun to walk between the vegetation.

This labyrinth is sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Montgomery which is located at 2810 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, Alabama 36107. There is lots of parking spaces along the Atlanta Highway side of the church property.

The labyrinth is physically found at the corner formed by the junction of Bradley Drive with Atlanta Highway, and is more on the side of Bradley Drive than Atlanta Hwy. side. The large Tulip Poplar tree is a good landmark for where the labyrinth is found since it can be seen pretty much anywhere outside the church buildings, and especially along the main street of Atlanta Hwy.

This labyrinth is a miniature model of France's Chartres Cathedral's labyrinth. It is about 30 feet in diameter, with a five circuit pathway to the center. The novelty of this is that the live Liriope plants form the edges (low flexible wall) of the pathway. It's construction using plants is not too commonly done, so this is a chance to walk a rather rare form of labyrinth. It is also a good one to introduce young children on how to walk a labyrinth. They may not understand the spiritual or philosophical effects of walking it, but they will enjoy the physicality of it and for children, that is how they relate to the world anyway. It is a good introductory labyrinth.

The pathway to the labyrinth's center is designed to complement the concept that walking a labyrinth allows you to meditate and release your tensions and worries on the way in. At the center, you can leave those frustrations there and can return on the same path back with a more relaxed attitude of hope and contentment.
