About Galgenwiel (water):
"The Galgenwiel (Loenermeer) is an elongated fen, formed by old water vortices, located in Loon op Zand on the edge of Waalwijk.
The wheels of this Loenermeer were created in 1658 by breaches of the Meerdijk. The name comes from a gallows, which Dirk van Haastrecht erected in the north of Plantloon, to indicate that it concerned his jurisdiction, over which the Lord of Waalwijk had nothing to say. Next to this pond is a restaurant with the same name."
