James William Sandlin was sixty-eight years of age at his death. He is interred by his first wife Susan, who died sixteen years before him at age forty-one or forty-two. One notes that both Susan and his second wife, Artemica, had the same maiden name. According to a news article at the site linked here, William died in Oklahoma and was buried here by the Woodmen of the World camp in which he was a charter member. His grave marker is not the typical tree trunk, but is a short obelisk set on a square base. The inscription is:
