Perteneció al buque Hernán Cortés L-41 que prestó servicio en la Armada Española desde 1994 a 2009, antes lo había hecho en la Armada Estadounidense donde era conocido como USS Barnstable County (LST-1197).

It belonged to the Hernán Cortés L-41 ship that served in the Spanish Navy from 1994 to 2009, before it had served in the United States Navy where it was known as USS Barnstable County (LST-1197).
