Pub sign with slightly irreverent image outside the Three Nuns pub, Loughborough.
Everards Brewery commissioned Birdhouse Design Limited to create a new image for their revamped Three Nuns pub in Loughborough. Perfect for a fun-loving pub! In addition, it is used in the pub’s marketing material.
The sign shows 3 nuns at prayer, one gazing skywards with a large tankard of ale and a 'froth moustache'.
The pub is one of the oldest in town. A sign on the front of the building states 'Est. Circa 1666', only the Windmill pub claims to be older (pre-1600).
The pub has, in the past, been a meeting place for a variety of interesting clubs, including the United Order of Druids in 1837, the Buttonhole Club and the Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes.
Allegedly the pub may also be haunted by a lady in grey.
