Descriptif

Château construit vraisemblablement après 1502, date de l'érection de la terre de West-Cappel en seigneurie; arasement des tourelles d'angle pendant la révolution; démolition partielle, respectant sans doute le gros-oeuvre, et reconstruction du corps de logis entre 1847 et 1850, daté par source, en style gothique troubadour; porterie élevée en 1871; pont en maçonnerie en 1874; porche du pont Levis en 1875 toutes dates portées par les dites bâtisses. Château : toit à croupe sur le corps de bâtiment avec toit conique sur les tourelles d'angle et toit en pavillon sur le porche du pont-levis, couverture d'ardoise, sous-sol couvert de voûtes en berceau segmentaire à lunettes; ferme : toit à longs pans, pignon découvert, couverture de tuile flamande ; porterie : couverture d'ardoise.

Éléments protégés MH : les façades et les toitures du château proprement dit à l'exclusion de l'aile Est; les douves : inscription par arrêté du 27 janvier 1993. Le salon avec ses papiers peints, situé au rez-de-chaussée, dans le corps de logis principal : classement par arrêté du 10 janvier 1995.

Description

Castle probably built after 1502, date of the erection of the land of West-Cappel in seigniory; leveling of the corner turrets during the revolution; partial demolition, probably respecting the structural work, and reconstruction of the main building between 1847 and 1850, dated by source, in Troubadour Gothic style; gatehouse erected in 1871; masonry bridge in 1874; porch of the drawbridge in 1875 all dates carried by the said buildings. Castle: hipped roof on the body of the building with conical roof on the corner turrets and pavilion roof on the porch of the drawbridge, slate roofing, basement covered with segmental barrel vaults with lunette; farmhouse: long-sided roof, uncovered gable, Flemish tile covering; gatehouse: slate roof.

Heritage protected elements: the facades and roofs of the castle itself, excluding the east wing; the moats: registration by decree of January 27, 1993. The living room with its wallpapers, located on the ground floor, in the main building: classification by decree of January 10, 1995.
