Puerta funcional, de madera, de doble hoja, pintada en color marrón, dispone de unos adornos geométricos consistentes en cuadrados y dándole un relieve con molduras tambien de madera y del mismo color.
Situada en la carretera que se dirige a Alcoy. Hasta allí llega la tradicional romería con la correspondiente bendición de animales.
La ermita está rodeada de un bonito parque que es utilizado por los ciudadanos como zona de descanso y ocio, además de celebrarse diferentes eventos.
«La primera noticia documentada de la ermita de San Antonio data de 1516, cuando se la nombra en un protocolo notarial. Posteriormente, se la nombra en los Libros de Visitas pastorales de 1742, 1783, 1818 y 1926.
Situada a poco más de 2 km. al Norte de Jijona en el entorno de una alta planicie junto a la antigua Venta de San Antonio, edificada en 1890, desde la que se divisa la población y un amplio panorama.
Edificio exento que comprende: iglesia, sacristía y casa de ermitaño; realizado con muros y arcos diafragma de mampostería ordinaria y cubierta a dos aguas, sobre vigas y asnillas rematada con teja árabe. La fachada, orientada Sureste, es pentagonal, con amplio ángulo superior que denota escasa inclinación del tejado.
Este perfil se escalona por tramos marcados por cinco pináculos hasta el vértice sobre la vertical de la puerta, englobando una espadaña con hueco en arco de medio punto que aloja mediana campana.
Puerta dintelada, sobre la que hay un retablo cerámico que representa al santo titular. Banco de obra corrido a los lados de la puerta. Revestimiento de yeso blanco. Planta de nave única, rectangular, descuadrada, que mide 10 por 8,70 metros, tiene cuatro arcos diafragmas ojivales y cubierta con bóvedas de arista; banco de obra que recorre ambos laterales y, en el nacimiento del tercer arco izquierdo, se apoya un pequeño púlpito. El presbiterio se eleva tres escalones y en el testero recto se labra una hornacina de mármol negro y gris que aloja a San Antonio Abad.
En el mes de enero durante la festividad de San Antonio Abad, cientos de personas visitan la ermita para bendecir a sus animales. Finalizando la bajada del puerto de La Carrasqueta en el término municipal de Jijona".
Abierta solo en misas extraordinarias.

Linteled door, on which there is a ceramic altarpiece that represents the titular saint. Work bench running on the sides of the door. White plaster coating. Single nave plan, rectangular, out of square, measuring 10 by 8.70 meters, has four ogival diaphragm arches and is covered with groin vaults; work bench that registers both sides and, at the source of the third left arch, a small pulpit rests. The presbytery rises three steps and a black and gray marble niche is carved on the straight front wall that houses San Antonio Abad.
