This underpass mural is located at the Grosvenor Roundabout in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
The artwork was designed by local artist Dave Salt and is located in the underpass that leads to High Street(East) and Barracks Road (West) from the sunken garden at Newcastle’s Grosvenor roundabout.
It was the second of the sunken garden’s five underpass passages to be redecorated in 2021 as part of a project to improve seven subways in the town.
All the designs are inspired by the town’s Britain in Bloom campaign.
This colourful mural is inspired by sculptures that are situated on roundabouts in the borough, and features large tulips and flowers with the bee and buzzard from the town centre, the cyclists at Whitmore and the snowdrops at Clayton.
The underpasses also have CCTV and new lighting installed to make them brighter, safer and more appealing to shoppers.
