This stone boundary marker is located on East Main Road (Route 20), about one-tenth of a mile west of the Ohio-Pennsylvania border near the town of Conneaut, Ohio. There is a small parking area next to the maker. The stone marks the northeast boundary of the Connecticut Western Reserve, a 3.3 million acre portion of land retained by Connecticut after the state ceded most of its western claims to the United States in 1786. Connecticut surrender its authority to govern the territory in 1800.

The stone has a plaque on it with a map of Ohio, highlighting the Western Reserve area. The plaque says, "Northeast Boundary Marker of the Connecticut Western Reserve Conveyed to the United States, September 11, 1786." It also notes that the stone was "Dedicated by the Early Settlers Association of the Western Reserve, Cleveland, Ohio," and that the granite stone was donated by the state of Connecticut.
