The column was built in 1720 by the second son of Count Karl Maximilian of Thurn, Matthias Thurn, provost at Petrov in Brno. On the base of the column there is an inscription "TURRIS DAVIDICA PROTECTIO DE TURRIS 1720" - /Tower of David of the Thur family 1720/. On 18 June 1720 Matthias Thurn consecrated it in the presence of his brother Antonín of Krasonice and the Counts of Telc and Budíškovice. The column was recently repaired.
The chronogram is located on the sandstone pedestal. The Roman numerals of chronogram are larger than the other letters and are red color-coded from the rest of the text.

Sloup nechal postavit Roku 1720 druhý syn hrabete Karla Maxmiliána z Thurnu Matyáš Thurn, probošt na Petrove v Brne. Na podstavci sloupu je nápis "TURRIS DAVIDICA PROTECTIO DE TURRIS 1720" - /Vež Davidova záštita Thurských 1720/. Dne 18.6. 1720 ho Matyáš Thurn posvetil za prítomnosti svého bratra Antonína z Krasonic a hrabat z Telce a Budíškovic. Sloup byl nedávno opraven.
