This ornate marble mausoleum, constructed in 1869, is on the east side of Bond Street, opposite the Beeson Mansion. While a private cemetery, the gate is usually open for visitors. Note that the current owners of the mansion are not in any way connected with this family.
History: Businessman Strother M. Beeson, who lived in the mansion on the other side of the road, purchased this property and constructed this ornate marble mausoleum in 1869 for his mother, Judith Ann Lewis. Tragically, jost one year later, Beeson's infant son died at age eleven months and is also interred here. His mother, Harriet Beeson, passed away in 1875 and is also laid to rest here. A number of "ghost stories" surround this mausoleum.
