The SagaMuseum is a very lifelike depiction of the Faroe Islands' history and is the only Wax Museum in the Faroe Islands.
Irish monks lived in the Faroe Islands from the year 600, but were later driven out by Norwegian Vikings. However, the Norwegian Vikings were divided into two tenants who fought each other, and many killings took place.
Also in connection with the introduction of Christianity, there were many murders. The Norwegian king Olav II died in battle on July 29, 1030. He played a decisive role in bringing Christianity to the Faroe Islands. July 29 is now the Faroe Islands' national day.
Scenes from the history of the Faroe Islands are set up in the Saga Museum. Each scene is very lifelike constructed with props and people. All the characters are very lifelike, there are many killings, beheadings and hangings. It is therefore a very bloody experience that may be a little too scary for children.
It is a terrifying experience, but at the same time the artistic quality is absolutely top class.
