In the inner courtyard of Palazzo Vecchio you can see some columns, some cylindrical and others octagonal, beautifully decorated.
Cosimo I de' Medici commissioned the artists Lorenzo Marignolli and Santi Buglioni to cover the gilt stucco columns with plant motifs, putti and other figurations. All this for the wedding between Francesco de' Medici and Giovanna of Austria in the year 1565.
