About NAP:
Amsterdam Ordnance Datum or Normaal Amsterdams Peil (NAP) is a vertical datum in use in large parts of Western Europe. Originally created for use in the Netherlands, its height was used by Prussia in 1879 for defining Normalnull, and in 1955 by other European countries. In the 1990s, it was used as the reference level for the United European leveling Network (UELN) which in turn led to the European Vertical Reference System (EVRS).

"The watercourse Schoonebeker Diep has its source in Lower Saxony, Germany, southeast of Twist. The Schoonebeker Diep is connected to the Overijsselse Vecht via the Coevorden-Piccardie Canal and the Coevorden-Vecht Canal.
Along the Schoonebeker Diep is an air watch tower from the Cold War, built at the time to detect enemy aircraft flying under radar range. It stands near the Schoonebeek - Emlichheim border crossing, along the N853. It is Air Guard Tower 7Z3 - Schoonebeek (
