"Piazza in Piscinula se abre deliciosa a la mirada recorriendo via della Lungaretta, a la altura de la Isla Tiberina. Según la tradición, la iglesia de la plaza, San Benedetto in Piscinula, se fundó a finales del siglo V sobre el lugar donde vivió San Benito de Nursia durante sus estudios romanos. La iglesia está abierta sólo los domingos y durante las fiestas; su peculiaridad es el campanario del siglo XI: es el más pequeño de Roma y casi desaparece entre los tejados de los edificios. La campana, datada en 1069, es la más antigua de la ciudad y tiene un diámetro de sólo 45 cm."
