EN: "The U-shaped fountain in the Plaza de las Tendillas was built in 1970 facing Calle de Gondomar, following the design by architect Carlos Font. In 1980, flower beds were built around it and in 1999, the whole square was completely remodelled and a new fountain installed with a black marble base and curved overflow pipes which channel the water into a polygonal grey marble font on the exterior. The fountain is presided by the imposing equestrian sculpture of the ‘Gran Capitan’."
