According to Wikipedia, "the district of the center is the district in the center of the Pentagon in the city of Brussels in Belgium. It largely corresponds to the interior of the first enclosure.

t is in the heart of the Saint-Géry island district, formed by the Senne river and on which the first keep was built around 979, that the origin of the city is located. Today, the district around the Halles Saint-Géry, a former covered market, is one of the capital's trendy districts. The center district retains some vestiges of the first enclosure of Brussels from the 13th century, which included the first port of Senne, the Romanesque collegiate church, later replaced by the Saints-Michel-et-Gudule cathedral. The ducal castle of Coudenberg, which is part of the royal district, is sometimes considered as part of the Center District because it was located within the first enclosure unlike the rest of the royal district such as the Parc de Bruxelles, for example. At the center of this triangle are the Grand-Place in Brussels, the Îlot Sacré district (which takes its name from its resistance to demolition projects), itself crossed by the Galeries Royales Saint-Hubert. There is also the Saint-Jacques1 district which welcomed pilgrims en route to Compostela and the Stock Exchange district, built on the site of a former convent, the remains of which have been uncovered".
