This dove of peace is located on a granite grave marker in a small cemetery in Selma, N.C. The dove faces to the left with wings spread upward in flight and an olive branch in its beak. It is situated on the uppermost part of the marker, flanked by a scroll of flowers on both sides with the inscription below. The inscription on the marker reads:
