This Dome is in the chapel of the main altar of the cathedral mosque of Cordoba.
"The transept vault , supported on pendentives decorated with Atlantean children, is decorated with representations of the Fathers of the Church and with a relief of the Holy Trinity in the center. It was made in 1599 by Juan de Ochoa, being the reliefs of Francisco Gutiérrez and being dated in 1600.
It will be under the episcopate of Francisco Reinoso when the architect Juan de Ochoa , with an innovative mannerist approach, concludes the choir and transept spaces by providing them with magnificent roofs. Thus, in the case of the transept, an oval vault on pendentives decorated by the four evangelists was chosen. To them are added the figures of the eight Fathers of the Church and the Holy Trinity to form an iconographic program of a Counter-Reformation character ."
