A duel in/out entrance to the Harbor Town (as they call it, it is not a town), and just west of that is the flag poles set.
Three large, nautical flag poles with accompanying faux anchors, as was once on three or more, masted sailing ships in days of yore.
"Harbor Town is situated on the larger of two lakes between interstate 70 and interstate 64. Harbor Town consists of 156 Townhomes each owned by individual owners.
"The lakes and community began in 1961 when Ellis Ellerman and Ira Nathan envisioned a lake large enough for recreation and close to the City of St. Louis. This vision ended up being two lakes, 625 acre Lake St. Louis and 55 acre Lake St. Louise. By 1967 several more investors had come and gone. Harbor Town Complex was built along interstate 70 on the large lake beginning around 1971. The complex was designed to be summer vacation homes for the affluent in St. Louis.
"Harbor Town today is a subdivision of the City of Lake St. Louis. Harbor Town consists of 23 acres on the shores of Lake St. Louis. The complex has a boardwalk with 64 boat slips, a small beach for our residents and a swimming pool. The “Harbor Town Area Association” is the official name of the Corporation. The Association is managed by 6 elected Directors who oversee a staff of an office manager, and 3 maintenance personnel and conduct the business of the Association." ~ Harbor Town
