A section of the Kaw Wildlife Area has been named in honor of Jodi LeAnn Sanderholm, who was the victim of a brutal rape and murder in 2007; her body was recovered near this point. This pull-out and memorial monument is just north of the Oklahoma-Kansas State Line, on the east side of the Arkansas River, several miles southeast of Arkansas City. Access is from a paved road if you come from the Kansas side; the road from the Oklahoma side might not be naviagable after rain.
