The Nautical Flagpole is on the beach side grassy forecourt of the Coolangatta Surf Life Saving Club, between Marine Parade and the Gold Coast Oceanway - a pedestrian and cycle path. While the building was possibly built in 1958 (by the year on the side of the flat roof), it appears a little more modern than that. As the Club was formed in November 1958.
