According to the Snohomish County Government website, the skate park at Martha Lake Airport Park was the first in the county parks system.
Much credit for the skatepark features goes to a young boy who worked to advocate for the creation of a place for neighborhood youth. Only 12 years old at the time, Colton Heaverly gave many impassioned speeches to the county planning team and community organizations. He even gathered large lists of signatures to support his requests!
The skatepark includes a bank/wedge, ramp, grind box/ledge, and a manual pad.
