DE: An der etwa vier Meter hohen bronzebeschlagenen Eingangspforte befinden sich ebenfalls bronzene Türgriffe in Wappenform. Diese sind etwa 20cm breit und etwa 30cm hoch und zeigen auf der linken Seite das Wappen der Grafschaft Zweibrücken(-Zweibrücken) und auf der rechten Seite das komplexe Wappen von Gustav Samuel Leopold Pfalzgraf bei Rhein zu Zweibrücken-Kleeburg, Herzog v. Bayern (*12.04.1670 - +17.09.1731).
Errichtet wurde das Repräsentationsschloss zwischen 1720 und 1725 nach Plänen des Architekten und Baumeisters Jonas Erikson Sundahl im Auftrag von Gustav Samuel Leopold. 1793 wurde das Schloss in Folge der französischen Revolution geplündert und verfallen gelassen. 1817 erhielt die katholische Gemeinde die Genehmigung, das verfallene Schloss in eine Kirche umzubauen, wegen der hohen Kosten der Reparatur wurde der westliche Teil des Schlosses an die Justiz abgetreten, die wiederum gegen 1850 auch den Rest des Gebäudes übernahm.
Im zweiten Weltkrieg wurde das Schloss erneut schwer beschädigt und blieb bis 1962 wegen einiger Unklarheiten bezüglich des Wiederaufbaus in diesem Zustand. Zwischen 1962 und 1964 konnte dann nach den in Nancy gefundenen Originalplänen die barocke Fassade erneut errichtet werden.

EN: The approximately four meter high, bronze-studded entrance gate also has bronze door handles in the shape of a coat of arms. These are about 20cm wide and about 30cm high and show on the left side the coat of arms of the County of Zweibrücken(-Zweibrücken) and on the right side the complex coat of arms of Gustav Samuel Leopold, Count Palatine near Rhein zu Zweibrücken-Kleeburg, Duke of Bavaria (*12.04.1670 - +17.09.1731).
The representative palace was built between 1720 and 1725 according to plans by the architect and master builder Jonas Erikson Sundahl on behalf of Gustav Samuel Leopold. In 1793, as a result of the French Revolution, the castle was plundered and left to fall into disrepair. In 1817 the Catholic community received permission to convert the dilapidated castle into a church, because of the high cost of repairs the western part of the castle was ceded to the judiciary, which in turn took over the rest of the building around 1850.
During the Second World War, the castle was again badly damaged and remained in this state until 1962 due to some uncertainties regarding the reconstruction. Between 1962 and 1964, the baroque facade was rebuilt according to the original plans found in Nancy.
