A display of several types of carnivorous plants delight and amaze at the Botanical Gardens among the administrative buildings at the Ballard Locks.

The day Blasterz visited, 14 Jun 2023, we saw Pitcher Plants, Venus Flytraps, and California Trumpets.

We had never seen California Trumpets before - and were not sure they were carnivorous until we saw bug bits stuck inside.

Unfortunately, it was not possible to see if the pitcher plants had bugs inside. We didn’t want to risk damaging the plants by opening the trumpet’s lid a bit to peek inside. It’s always best to leave nature alone, and so we did :)
