Run by William and Janet Bernhart, Chakana Sky started operations in 2016 with 3 fiber boys and 3 maiden females. Their hope was to grow the farm and maintain a herd of 12-15 huacaya alpacas, producing fiber, fiber products, and animals for sale. They currently six handsome boys and nine beautiful girls on their website.
Chakana Sky offers farm tours, as well as other experiences. Alpacas Yoga, Camp Fire (BYO) Happy Hours, and Alpaca Trekking are possibilities. They operate an onsite farm store, the “Pacatique,” and carry an extensive collection of alpaca clothing accessories, including hats, scarves, shawls, mittens, gloves, socks, and some cozy throws, as well as yarn, alpaca toys and other accessories.
