Andrés Mier y Terán, from Mexico City, studied in Paris and decided that crêpes would be a big hit in his native country. He and his brothers opened a hit crêperie in Mexico City, and then in 2009 opened their first location in New York City in SoHo. The SoHo location has since closed, but there are two locations on Columbus Ave, the marked one, and one at 68th St.
The menu features about 25 combinations of crêpes, as well as coffee, smoothies and shakes.
Vive la Crêpe! has had multiple positive reviews from the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and New York Magazine, as well as such far-flung magazines as Harpers Bazaar Japan.
