This small monument commemorates the 100th anniversary of the "Main Line of America" - the Illinois Central. You'll find it on the northwest corner of the Daviess County Courthouse Square, right in front of the bell. The monument is comprised of two copper plaques that have tarnished to an attractive turquoise, set in a small boulder.
