The Corona sculpture is suspended above the Choir of St. Olave's church in North Ramsey.

The sculpture is made of wrought-iron with a perforated stainless steel ring insert.

The sculpture was installed in 1963 and was made to the design of Rev. David Bush who was the Diocesan Architect at that time.

Hanging from the sculpture on ornamental chains are representation of bumblebees.

The sculpture emphasises the pain of the crucifixion, whilst the bright stainless-steel suggests hope.

The Crown of Thorns is mentioned in the gospels of Matthew 27:29, Mark 15:17 and John 19:2 and 19:5). It was also alluded to by the early Church Fathers, such as Clement of Alexandria, Origen and others, further it is referenced in the apocryphal Gospel of Peter.
