Es una representación de una de las poses que más recordamos del "Viejo Profesor": leyendo uno de sus bandos con un papel en la mano izquierda y gesticulando con la derecha, sus características gafas redondas no podían faltar.

Biografía:
“Enrique Tierno Galván procedía de una familia de clase media rural de origen soriano: el padre, Alfredo, de Valdeavellano de Tera; la madre, Julia, de Almazón. Tuvo un hermano mayor, Alfredo, que dejó el Ejército, al igual que, mucho antes, había hecho el padre. Inició sus estudios de Derecho en 1934 en la Universidad de Madrid, licenciándose con Premio Extraordinario en 1942. En 1944 finalizó asimismo su licenciatura en Filosofía en la Universidad de Murcia. Durante la Guerra Civil fue movilizado en el Ejército de la República como soldado de Infantería, siendo destinado a los servicios de reclutamiento. Se casó con Encarnita Pérez Relaño en 1946 y al año siguiente nació su hijo Enrique. El matrimonio tuvo además otra hija que falleció tempranamente.
Superadas las dificultades políticas provenientes de su adscripción republicana en la Guerra Civil, fue nombrado por concurso oposición catedrático de la Universidad de Murcia en 1948, trasladándose en 1954 a la de Salamanca donde ejerció como influyente profesor y hombre público hasta 1965, fecha en que, por su oposición ilegal al régimen político de la dictadura, fue expulsado de la Universidad.
En esos años y en su cátedra de esa Universidad de Salamanca fundó y dirigió la publicación de un boletín o revista de derecho político, así como del periódico Europa a la vista, que fue pronto prohibido por la autoridad gubernativa, seguido de su procesamiento e ingreso en prisión. En esos años de separación, fue profesor invitado en varias Universidades americanas, especialmente en Puerto Rico y Princeton (Estados Unidos). En 1976, en la transición a la democracia, fue repuesto en su cátedra pasando finalmente a la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
Tras años de intenso protagonismo político, fue elegido alcalde de Madrid, y así ejerció desde 1979 hasta su muerte en 1986.”
