This location is both a Fire Station and a Police Substation. A rare Torosaurus fossils were found while excavating the location, delaying opening by almost a year.

Opened in August 2018, construction was delayed when a sharp-eyed construction worker noticed fossils during excavation. The City and Contractor agreed to modify the construction plans to allow Denver's Museum of Nature and Science excavate the fossils. First thought to be a Triceratops, later study discovered the skeletons to be the much rarer Torosaurus. Some of the fossils are on display in the Police Substation entrance. See (

The building houses both the Fire Station and a Thornton Police Substation. See (
