The Ron Coleman Mine is a tourist attraction as well as a working mine. Gems mined here include Arkanas quartz, geodes, and amethyst. You can even tour the quarry and try your hand at mining yourself. Or you can simply purchase your gemstones from the large selection in the store. You can also ride the Zip Line right over the open quarry. There are large tables full of of rocks and minerals that are for sale, including a huge quartz crystal that can be yours for a mere $30,000. However, this waymark is focused on several large examples that were extracted from this mine that are on permanent display (not for sale) on the edge of the parking area. They include a large igneous boulder and some sizeable quartz crystals. However, there are no information signs here to describe what you are seeing. You can park right by this display to view them.
