"History
Carved in stone from El Torcal de Antequera , it was designed by Morilla y Ortega in 1959 and carved by Adrián Risueño Gallardo in 1960 . The fountain imitates the structure of the Fountain of the Three Graces and consists of three bodies and two cups in which the three female figures of Andalusian folkloric inspiration stand out , with fans and ruffled costumes .
Transfer and location
This fountain was in the Plaza de la Constitución until 2002 , when with the restoration of the square it was decided, due to its large proportions, to relocate it to the Plaza del Poeta Manuel Alcántara, 4? on Avenida de Andalucía in the Centro district , in the neighborhood of Polígono Alameda . This square constitutes an important axis where Avenida de Andalucía, Calle Armengual de la Mota and Callejones del Perchel come together. In the vicinity of this square is the headquarters of Correos y Telégrafos , the El Corte Inglés building , the Unicaja headquarters , the Tax Agency building, the Málaga-Centro-Alameda station of Cercanías Málaga and the Guadalmedina Station of the Málaga Metro .
Due to the delay and the numerous problems in the works of the Málaga Metro, the fountain remained hidden for almost a decade in municipal warehouses."
