This ten-mile flat-water kayak trip makes for a terrific day on the water. Put in is on N. Banner Road at the river (and you can find other put-in spots further west for a longer trip) and a good place to stop is at Lake Overholser. A good time is guaranteed to be had by all. The last quarter of the trip is within the Stinchcomb Wildlife Refuge where there are several meanders in the river. The finish line is when you pass under the old Route 66 Truss Bridge and put in where you (hopefully) parked a car or two. For those interested in such things, there are several kayak-accessible geocaches along this route.
