The North American Aviation XB-70 Valkyrie was the prototype version of the planned B-70. One of two built the other one was destroyed in a midair collision June 8th 1966. The last one is on display at the National Museum of the Air Force Dayton Ohio. The plane could do Mach 3 and climb to 70,000 feet. This can be viewed in hanger 4 Research and Development Gallery.

The project was ultimately cancelled because ICBM's were a more effective delivery method of nuclear bombs.

If you visit this museum give yourself 2 days to take it all in.
